two people i've admired since my understanding of the financial markets as well as my enlightenment on how the world actually works, has been Jim Sinclair and Ron Paul. one consistently helping to retain the value of my money through honest knowledge of the markets, and the other helping to retain the value of my money in the government, as well as defending my liberty and every American's. together they've provided a sort of one-two punch of truth in my life, and for someone who is not particularly used to adoring other men, i find myself magnetized and empowered by their thoughts and courage.
today was one of those lazy Sundays, so i took a moment to troll through jsmineset's archives and saw a link for "Paul, Ron". i clicked on it and to my pleasant shock discovered a short archive of articles where the words "Ron Paul" were written.
Representative Ron Paul of Texas is such a party pooper, telling it like it is when Green-spin sounds so much better.
Telling it Like it Is (http://www.jsmineset.com/ARhome.asp?VAfg=1&RQ=EDL,1&AR_T=1&GID=&linkid=1817&T_ARID=1821&sCID=&sPID=&cTID=-1&cCat=&PRID=-1&cSubCat=&archive=&highstr=ron+paul&UArts=)
Jim Sinclair's Commentary:
Ron Paul speaks words of wisdom but the sheep will clamor for their very own special ID card. Pictures of little old ladies saying, " But it makes us so much safer" will be flashed on all the news stations.
Reject the National ID Card
by Ron Paul
Washington politicians are once again seriously considering imposing a national identification card - and it may well become law before the end of the 108th Congress. The much-hailed 9/11 Commission report released in July recommends a federal identification card and, worse, a "larger network of screening points" INSIDE the United States. Does this mean we are to have "screening points" inside our country where American citizens will be required to "show their papers" to government officials? It certainly sounds that way!
As I have written recently, the 9/11 Commission is nothing more than ex-government officials and lobbyists advising current government officials that we need more government for America to be safe. Yet it was that same government that failed so miserably on September 11, 2001...

Jim Sinclair’s Commentary
Ron Paul has been correct for so long that his credibility among the mass of the wrong sided is low. Nobody wants discipline fiscal, monetary policy and hard money outside of us.
Please review the following interview. It is magnificent in its simplicity. Of course it does not stand a chance.
ONE CONGRESSMAN'S FIGHT TO SAVE M3
There's less than two weeks of life left for the Fed's M3 series, the broadest measure of money supply. On March 23, the central bank plans to end publishing the data. But if one Congressman has his way, M3 will live on. It's an uphill battle, to be sure, but Ron Paul, a Republican who represents the 14th Congressional district of Texas, has sponsored legislation (H.R. 4892) to keep the data coming. (For the latest version of the legislation, visit Thomas at the Library of Congress and browse under Rep. Paul's bills.)
M3 is arguably all the more relevant these days since its rate of growth has been roughly twice as high as M2, a narrower gauge of money supply. The Fed claims that there's not a lot of difference between the two, although the numbers as reported suggest otherwise. (For previous CS posts on M3, see our February 28 article, with additional links for background information.)

The following communication came from a man of letters, an economist of the highest standing, a man who has published extensively on the most practical of economic subjects as well as the most complex.
He has been decorated for his lifetime achievements in economic theory by the most respected bodies. He is not a fan of gold per se but understands it better than anyone I have come in contact with since 1968 in France.
I do not know if he wishes to be revealed so I will maintain his anonymity and he will remain simply my respected friend. I believe that such brilliant men as Jacques Rueff and Paul Volcker are junior to this man and in fact would tell you so. If he were a US citizen, he would be drafted to replace Greenspan in a heartbeat by all schools of thought.
He says the following and makes a request that I ask you to consider seriously:

Jim Sinclair's Commentary:
The age old secret of the millionaires of the Bible was tithing (giving one tenth of your salary to your church). However, the following figures from Ron Paul makes one wonder if this tithing is what King David really meant.
Deficits at Home, Welfare Abroad
November 7, 2005
In the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and with an ongoing war in Iraq that costs more than $1 billion per week, taxpayers might think Congress has better things to do with $21 billion than send it overseas. Yet that’s exactly what Congress did last Friday, approving a useless and counterproductive foreign aid spending bill. Never mind that the total federal debt recently topped $8 trillion, or that a major US city was virtually destroyed only a few months ago. Arrogant is the only word to describe a Congress that cares so little about its own taxpaying citizens while pretending to know what is best for the world.
Consider just a few of the ways your money will be used under the new bill:
$638 million for the unelected Musharraf government in Pakistan;
$735 million to continue dangerous drug meddling in South America;
$150 million for development in Gaza, in addition to the billions we already give the Palestinians every year;
$110 million for the Middle East Partnership Initiative, ostensibly for economic development, although the recipient nations include oil-rich Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Why in the world are American taxpayers giving welfare to OPEC governments?
Over $500 million for various republics in the former Soviet Union. Even as those nations spawn millionaires and even billionaires, Americans are expected to provide welfare for their poor.
$95 million in new money for the United Nations Democracy Fund, which meddles with foreign governments but never seems to change them;
$34 million for the pro-abortion United Nations Population Fund, which lectures poor people about having too many children;
$440 million for international population planning;
$80 million for the dubious Global Environment Facility, run by the World Bank to fund anti-capitalist environmental projects around the world.
