Press Conference: Educating Rudy

Presidential candidate Dr. Ron Paul and Michael Scheuer, former head of
the CIA Bin Laden Unit, will host a press conference to educate former
mayor Rudy Giuliani mayor on foreign policy

When: Thursday, May 24th at 9:30 a.m.
Where: The National Press Club, Lisagor Room
RSVP: Jesse Benton, 703-248-9115 or Jesse@RonPaul2008.com

Presidential candidate Ron Paul will be joined by Michael Scheuer,
former head of the CIA's Bin Laden Unit, to discuss flawed American
foreign policy and its implications on terrorism, security and Iraq.

During the "First in South" GOP debate, Dr. Paul stated that 50 years
of interventionism in the Middle East is a significant motivating tool
for radical Islamists. Dr. Paul's position is backed by a host of
experts, administration officials and the 9-11 Commission.

Mr. Giuliani called Dr. Paul's position absurd and said that he had
"never heard such an explanation," prompting the Paul campaign to ask
why Giuliani, a candidate running on security bonafides, had not
studied the lessons of real security experts.

Dr. Paul and Mr. Sheuer will explain why Rudy Giuliani is wrong on
security and foreign policy and provide documentation about the
unintended consequences of interventionism.

Will Dr. Paul be IN the panel or just a satellite feed guest? I'm thinking on the panel as he's going to be flying out there and all..heh. Just wanted to confirm here. The interesting thing is that P. J. O'Rourke is characterized as "sometimes libertarian," so this may be a really cool show.

Is Ben Affleck on our side???

I have no idea why Ben Affleck will be there.

Three possibilities are ….

He loves Bush

He hates Bush

He has a new movie coming out and is looking to plug it

Well, he (Affleck) is a Democrat, so you may see an all-round consensus in regards to the war.

I have to say that, after watching Dr. Paul's 24 minute address (very inspiring by the way,) to the House; I felt very discouraged as his speech drew to a close, because there wasn't even so much as a single clap or shout of applause...

However, I went on to watch the CNN Paula Zahn discussion later today...
and now I see this...

I'M LOVIN IT!!!!!

I've been asking everyone I see today whether or not they've heard of Ron Paul, and everyone says "Ummmm...... You mean that transvestite?"

I'm trying like hell... One person at a time!

I think I may start making signs, and pulling the "Roadside blogger" routine around my town...

Ron Paul, CIA Big, to Rebut Giuliani at Press Confab, May 24

Wednesday, May 23, 2007 - FreeMarketNews.com

Presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-TX) will be joined by Michael Scheuer, former head of the CIA's Bin Laden Unit, to discuss flawed American foreign policy and its implications on terrorism, security and Iraq.

The press conference will be held at 9:30AM EST on Thursday, May 24 in the National Press Club Lisagor Room.

During the "First in South" GOP debate, earlier this month, Dr. Paul stated that 50 years of interventionism in the Middle East is a significant motivating tool for radical Islamists. Dr. Paul's position, though disparaged during the debate, has since received backing from numerous individuals, including others in the GOP, administration officials and - in excerpted reports - from the 9-11 Commission itself.

In the debate, Rudy Giuliani, a presidential candidate and well-known former Republican mayor of New York, called Dr. Paul's position "absurd." Giuliani is commonly characterized as a GOP "front-runner." He is also considered well-versed in foreign policy, given his supervision of the "international city" of New York and his position as its leader during 9/11. However, he stated that he had "never heard such an explanation" as Ron Paul's.

According to a limited-circulation release, Dr. Paul and Mr. Scheuer are expected to explain why Rudy Giuliani is wrong on security and foreign policy and provide documentation about the unintended consequences of interventionism - known to many in the intelligence community (and Dr. Paul as well) as "blowback."
