Ealier tonight (2am in Kuwait) a missle hit Kuwait City - smashing into a mall. Patriot radar did not pick it up indicating that it came in on a low trajectory ( like a cruise missle ).
Breaking reports indicate that Chinese lettering was on the missle fragments - indicating it might have been a Chinese silkworm missle, which operates similar to a cruise missle.
First the Russians, now the Chinese.
"May you live in interesting times" was an ancient Chinese saying - unfortunately it was considered a curse.

Apparently the Iraqis have had these missles for awhile - they used them in the Iran/Iraq was to take out a few Iranian oil tankers. Mostly used as anti-ship missles, speculation was that it was shot at one of our boats but locked onto a building target.
I pray that we have our Navy adequately defended. No word yet on why there where no alarms or warnings.

Rumsfeld is to blame for going in "too light". The current news cycle (soon to be discredited?) is that D. Rumsfeld ignored military folks who "requested" a larger ground force.
Cruel Riddle: When do you lose a war?
Answer: When you have no "reserves."
Well? Do we?

The last few times I've seen him on TV he looked rather ruffled and anxious - vs his calm and sense of controll when we went into Afghanastan. It does seem that things are not going according to plan and he may be getting set up as the "fall guy".

Yes, he may be fall guy. Deserved, or not. Somebody deserves an a**-kicking for letting our guys die because we have a 350 mile supply-chain that is not secure. It appears that "over-confidence" ruled the day. Or, the price of American soldiers lives is a lot lower than I thought and hoped it was.
Bush is a one-termer, or a hellaciously feared snake-charmer. I no longer see any between position.

I have felt for a while that I've been witnessing a "blow off top" or parabolic top in arrogance for a while now. Pervasive in many American citizens, think tanks, "leaders", military personnel, business and financial personalities, etc.
I am truly afraid of the humbling that may be headed our way. Nature and history have a tendency to level things out... bigtime.
Nervous.
