I posted this pic over in my XD45 thread, let me see if I can link to it here:

Basically it's a factory configuration Colt R6700 model which means it's an A2 lower w/ 20" heavy barrel and removable carry handle to expose a top rail. It was manufactured jsut a few months before the ban and I bought it in mint condition. It's a lot of fun to shoot!

From my other thread, Noveske N4 Light, Low Profile.
Colt flat top with a Bausch & Lomb scope, Pachmeyer grip and Jewell 2 stage trigger. This one shoots well, I've done a few 600 yard matches with it.
Oh yeah, I sold this and own no guns now, or gold or silver.

Tom,
Nice touch with the revolver grip on that Colt flat top. I like the look. Never seen that before. Good idea.

No pics of my first AR at present but it is a DPMS lower, Bushmaster upper with a 14.5" barrel and 4" muzzle brake(didn't PLAN on this set-up,it just kind of happened).A1 sights and collapsible stock.
Nice little rifle and shoots quite well, not finicky at all like I have read.
Wouldn't mind picking up a longer barreled upper but am not that concerned about it.
This was an impulse buy mainly because I no longer owned a .223 rifle having sold my AK in that caliber.
I am mainly a .308 type of person...FALs to be exact.:D
Love your AR Scott... Very handy looking.
I dont have an AR- Im wrestling in my mind whether to buy one or pick up 2 Milled Yugo AK's - tough decision for me

I would like to get another AK in 7.62x39 as it is such a common caliber...however the .223 AR platform is now THE caliber and magazines for almost all .223 military firearms are made to interchange.
Find a 'regular' everyday AR for around $700( I paid $650 for mine), buy a dozen or so mags and be set...

I just built an AR from a Superior Arms stripped lower and a J&T parts kit (DoubleStar). It is a standard CAR w/M4 buttstock. It is for sale in Colorado -- unfired. Why? I built it in order to develop a patented part for the AR, then I found out that the part had already been invented. :banghead: I don't feel like adding this caliber to my collection (reloading).

I consolidated calibers to keep ammo stocks simple. If you already have a 7.62*39 might as well stick with it. I went the AR direction when I got my first one 16 years ago. I already had some major ammo and magazine stocks of 5.56, wanted something carbine length, so another AR style gun made sense.
Happy gun buying!

Have ya'll seen the new 5.45x39 upper for the AR. I forget who makes them, www.militarygunsupply.com (http://www.militarygunsupply.com) is selling them (pre order, I don't think they're out yet).
I want one WAY bad, but I'm just too cheap to drop 600 on an upper.
