Has anyone seen this? It is only $50 which seems about how much a homemade one is.

how much would it cost to make one?
Where do I buy all the peices parts, at radio shack? I just figured if I was going to have to drive around a bunch of places wasting gas shopping for pieces and spend $25 bucks or so that it would be easier just to order one and at least it would look nice.
Sorry I'm new to this. Is there straight forward plans on the net for one of these? Hurry before the bird flu gets me!

buy 1 yard of fine copper wire, strong enough to connect 9 volt bateries together
get 2 silver maples
buy 3 "9 volt" batteries
wrap the wire around the terinals in such a way as to create a serial wiring as on diagram above
wrap everything in electrical tape so all you got is a block of electrical tape wraped batteries and you have 2 electrical wires extending away
do not take to the airport with you looks like a bomb
take the 2 end wires and connect silver maple leafs to each end
suspend into a glass full of distilled water over something like a pencil
i like arrowhead distilled
they post their water chemical composition on the website. it is checked every 15 minutes to be true (the water not the website)
i should not be writing this. there is a whole section here on cs

I bought this one http://www.wishgranted.com/Colloidal_Silver_Maker_777_AC.html and have been very satisfied with it. Turns off automatically and I brew a whole gallon at a time. Takes about 12 hours for a gallon.
One thing you should keep in mind is the surface area of your electrodes will determine how fast you can brew it.. I have these ones ... http://www.wishgranted.com/ec_store/item16.htm
I tried pounding out some Silver maples as they are .9999 pure Silver but I prefer the one in the above link..
For those that do not want to make their own I can say I have been very happy with the one in the link above - works for me!
Oh if anyone does buy this model I recommend you ask for the 8 inch electrodes as it comes with 6 inch it will cost a few bucks more but you get more surface and they will make more and do it faster

Zhucher? to late, about three weeks ago I took a one day trip to Miami and almost got arrested at the airport, your set up is what I have the 3 nine volts connected together and with alligator clips at the end for the silver wire.

I have the same machine and have tried to find .9999 flat electrodes, but have only found wire. I was thinking of taking a maple and rolling it out and making my own...interesting that you hammered out a maple for the same reason. I took a jewelery class one time, and they had a roller press that I believe would do the job. Next time I'm near downtown San Antonio I'm going to go by the school and see if they'll let me use the roller....it ought to work.
I would buy a couple of those from ya.. If ya can roll me out 2 maples that would be sweet. I would like them about 7 inches long and about the same width as came with our machines... does not matter how thick they are...

I'll do it...so you think each electrode should be one maple? I was wondering if the thickness of the electrodes would have any negative effect on the production time when brewing? As well as silver conducts current, I wouldn't think so myself...but I don't really know.
No they will just last longer - it is the surface area that is exposed to the water that counts.. The electrodes that come with the generator are only 1/4 oz at most. I would like a full oz on each. Make sure you use maples it is the only silver worth using the time and effort on - it is the purest you can get - which I know you know but others reading may not.
Ya 7 or 8 inches long and 1/2 or 5/8 inch wide - I would like one maple per electrode.. Last a lifetime and make thousand of gallons of CS
I do have maples to give you back if you perfer that + something for your time..

I don't claim any expertise is forming long rectangles out of round coins, but I'm sure I can make something work....it might have that one of a kind, handmade look though.
I've got plenty of maples...I'll PM you when I get it done.

I am also interested in these rolled out maples ... check your pm box.

take a look at the electrodes on this 5 gallon CS generator... By the way this is another generator company that in my opinion makes very good machines. They do have a smaller version...........
See how thick they are..........

It does not matter how nice it looks to me .. in fact if it come out in a long egg shape it would be fine - surface area is what counts ... heck 5 inches long and 3 wide egg shaped would give a lot of surface. Think in the terms of surface area

Yeah, those are heavy duty electrodes. Didn't you say one time that the person who designed the Silvergen machine also designed ours?
That is correct I talked with him on the phone for about 30 minutes one day and spent about an hour with the guy that makes our machine.. How do you like yours? I set mine at 5.5 and it comes out consistant at 13 or 14 PPMs. I have a friend who can test and he does for me.

I went and bought a gallon jar of pickles - hard to find - sams or I got mine at Cub foods don't know if you have those in your area? Here is a pic I just took as I am making a batch now... brown bottles are pints and quarts

Interesting, it looks like you did a little modification on the top to keep the electrodes close enough together? Did you test the ppm from the gallon jar batch? I can see why you want 7 or 8 in. electrodes.
Those are the 8 inch ones and I used the disk from a 100 pack of cdr's the clear one that sometimes is at the top or bottom of the CDR packs when you buy them.. Used a flat screwdriver and heated it to melt the plastic made them so they are 1 3/4 inches apart Takes about 12 hours to make a batch, and your are right water temp makes abig difference..

Why maples? I thought all silver that was 99.9 was the same? What if you use a one ounce englehard bar?
(does this mean that generic rounds are indeed inferior in terms of purity?)

Canadians make the purest Silver and Gold both of them are .9999 and most of the rest including Englehard are .999

So .999 is not pure enough for making CS?" (Obviously purer the better though) Maybe it would be ok external use?

Well I just finished making my first batch from my homemade generator. I made the one using a 30v AC adaptor from a printer and 2 maple leafs as electrodes in a mason jar. Seems to have worked like it said it would. I poured the concoction thru a coffee filter into a dark amber bottle for storage. Made about 12oz. I filled an old nasal spray bottle and that is what I'll be using. I get nasal/ear problems when the weather gets gold so I'll be trying the spray every morning and before I go to bed and see how it works. I must say I'm somewhat of a sceptic but curiosity has led me to try it. Worst case, I destroyed two really nice silver maple leafs.
Hi All,
It has been a while since people last posted on this topic. I'm debating whether to buy or build a CS generator.
Have opinions changed regarding a 'preferred' device? If you buy, is there a favourite brand? If you build, is there a 'best' way?
I'd like NOT to use little silver strips. What's the best way to suspend Maple Leaves in solution?
I haven't seen a definitive answer to the question of how to measure PPM. Yes, you can use a handheld laser to observe the "Tyndall Effect," but how much clouding is too much clouding?
For those who buy from a manufacturer, does your device have a PPM meter, or do you have a separate device? Does the meter require special maintenance, calibration and fuss? Do you trust it?
Apologies if this requires duplication of previous content, but there's a lot of outdated, unclear and/or misleading garbage on the net, so I'd appreciate 'fresh' input as/when you have time. I'm having trouble with the idea that it should be necessary to spend hundreds of dollars for something that should be relatively simple, but maybe the expense is justified.
Ponce / Infidel / Others
How do you folks suspend the coins? Don't alligator clips add too much metal?
Do you check your PPM? If so, how?
Do you ever use a cleaner to clean the coins?
Do you do anything else to prepare?
Does the homemade stuff have a known shelf life?
Just bumping and pumping again... :D

I haven't seen a definitive answer to the question of how to measure PPM.
Silver Puppy makes a very good CS generator and sells all the related paraphernalia:
http://silverpuppy.com/page1b.html
For a good PPM meter click on the UNITED STATES button in the left column and scroll down to item #15.
For a picture, specs and features of the COM-100: EC / TDS / TEMP COMBO METER:
http://silverpuppy.com/com100%20meter.html
It's an excellent meter and reasonably priced. I use one myself.
The guy who runs SP is friendly, gives good service, and there's lots of advice at his site.

The end product should look perfectly clear, like water, or at most have a slightly yellowish tinge. If it doesn't you'd better feed it to your house plants and find out more. Current control is critical.
