Because the internet is a much more effective propaganda tool if the users believe it’s content is of their own creation rather than Public Relations created by the elite. If there are no laws regarding truth or ethics then the elite have free reign to do whatever they desire. As shown in other media and systems such as voting, vast numbers don’t guarantee impartiality or freedom. Those that control the medium control the content. A voice of danger to the elite on the internet can be shut out by a number of well established PR techniques. The average user of the internet is only a target for the elite’s PR and no real threat to them.

I believe there are genuine alternative information portals on the internet but even they inadvertently forward the aims of the elite. Much of PR involves very obscure psychological techniques beyond the scope of this discussion. I will briefly outline one. The intent of much of the elite’s PR is to keep the masses ineffective through inaction. Introducing confusion is a good way to accomplish this. A logical device called a “double bind” is the perfect tool for this. [4]

From this theory and from observations of schizophrenic patients is derived a description, and the necessary conditions for, a situation called the 'double bind' - a situation in which no matter what a person does, he 'can't win'. Another reason the internet is not regulated is that if people thought the elite controlled the internet they would be more careful about what they say online. As it is it’s a perfect place to identify potential protesters. Looking at the Elite’s track record of respecting the laws regarding privacy elsewhere are you comfortable they are respecting your privacy online?

QWAK,When I first went on line I had an internet aplience called an I-OPENER I was so impressed with it I invested in the compny called NETPLIENCE. It was an IPO that took in 140 mill off the IPO but they had a HACKER problem they knew about befor the IPO was even launched. They LIVED BIG TIME for a year and burned threw over 100 mill! the stock went to $26.00+ shortly after the IPO but down to about $.32 by the end of 18 mo. and the CREEPS tried to BUY out the small investors at $.68 with less than 1/2 the remaing cash put up by small investors who bought at MUCH higher prices on the open market.

Yahoo had a board for NPLI and we were like a big family there. I made a statment that the I-Opener was like the Colt 45 in the old west IT made ALL people EQUAL and that IF they hunted THIS DUCK that THIS DUCK HUNTED BACK!

When the company tried to pull a FAST BUY OUT of the small investors over the christmas holidays I contacted a LAWYER over the inter net and filed a CLASS ACTION SUIT blocking the buy out!

IN less than 24 hours of filing ,the company cut off my access to the internet and in about 5 days I was contacted by the FBI and so was YAHOO! The Yahoo board was SHUT DOWN and WIPED cleen of ALL posts! The company had ACCUSED ME of TERRORISTIC THRETINING over the internet!

It shut me up long enough for them to regroup and come up with an alternet plan. BOTTOM LINE they got to keep all the money and the investors,customers and emploies ALL GOT SCREWED!

2 years later after changing the name of the company and coming up with a totaly diferent product that was BS BOGUS,the company was bought by another company who could use the 100 mill LOSE as a TAX SHELTER!

TRUE STORY PEOPLE! The FBI was DOOPED and the BAD GUYS WON!

China's government has initiated the first police force designed to monitor the Internet. Authorities in Shenzhen said the police force began Jan. 1 and will monitor “everything that is said in online forums,” the Hong Kong Ming Pao reportedThe Shenzhen police said in announcing the new force that the “Internet is not beyond the law“ and that Chinese should strictly regulate their online behavior.

China is cultivating high-technology specialists from around the world to develop expertise to control content on the Internet, which China's communist leaders view as a threat to their control over the country.
The Shenzhen Internet police have stated that websites and online forums are no longer outside the control of law enforcement, including public security agencies, urban administration and civil administration authorities. The police use floating computer icons that appear on Internet sites to notify computer users that they are being monitored

I do find it ironic that the internets was "invented" by DoD... when, in this brief time frame when the internets were free like the Wild Wild West, I've done all my "waking up"... to THEIR evil. The internet can't be controlled because it's just too large and hard. It's like trying to stop a group of friends from talking about the government in their own homes, only now they can record what they say and upload it on the internet. Or hold a conference call with hundreds of others gathered at different places. How is anyone going to stop this conference call, or stop someone from downloading the podcast? They'll have to be at that person's house, and there aren't enough government agents to physically watch over every person 24/7.

There are also forums, and blogs like mine www.impleader.com and as long as free speech laws exists, people can now publish their views and have millions read what they have to say. Befornly elites and those in the media could get their ideas out to the masses, thanks to the internet, everyone can.
