Of course he was old enough to have a stroke totally naturally, so it may be nothing, but something I read last night made me wonder about his stroke. I think setting the ME on fire by attacking Iran could be the end of Israel. Sharon had just left Likud and formed that centrist party which was pretty much a shoo in to win. If he had decided NOT to attack Iran, he was powerful enough not to. Benjamin N is all for it, and the main opponent against it.

Lots else going on... the bribery scandal, etc, plus he is old. But I do not think the invasion of Iraq is turning out beneficial for Israel, and an exploding war madness with Pakistan going Islamic fundamentalist and who knows what in Saudi Arabia.. I don't think it will be good for Israel.

I don't think the Arabs in general are as acutely aware of Israel as Americans assume.
Just as many Americans think "Radical Islam" is the root of their problems, the dull masses of Islam are led to believe "The Great Satan" America is their main problem.
Israel is likely to escape the crossfire and improve their world position practically unscathed. If they do have any casualties they will be grossly overblown by the media and the "victim status" will be used to justify just about anything.
