The great American movie.

So, all this talk of mattresses. Can you sleep on a poly foam mat in a mummy bag? Maybe wrap up in a tarp and lay in a pile of leaves? Are you set to sleep out in the snow banks?

Whatcha gonna do when the man comes by for your stuff?
Here. Please don't shoot me?

When does it dawn on you that you should have already gotten your wartime consigliere and "gone to the mattresses"?

One guy on another board I read was saying he lived in Houston, but was staying ready to get out at a moments notice. Good luck. Anybody who thinks they will make The Great Escape with their bugout convoy is dreaming.

Seems like the only guys who made The Great Escape took a bike, a rowboat, or walked. Jeff Cooper wrote about a German guy he met who was a Russian POW who made his escape on foot and walked out from somewhere around Finland.

You don't think that those Hiway Loops are actually there for traffic mobility, do you?

How many Loops surround major cities? A map shows Houston has 4 or 5. Those will be locked down an hour after "the event". If you haven't gotten out before you need to "go to the mattresses", you will have to make your bed where you lie.

Exactly what I've said for years to all these folks with "bug out" plans.....if where you're 'bugging out to' is a good place, why don't you live there now ?

Hey Tn...Andy-

Asked myself the same thing years ago. And I did it, went back to my bugout spot and stayed there. False alarm. Now I can't seem to be able to "BUG" anywhere. Maybe I should sell the 40, buy a hummer, and move to Houston.

Nawwwww. But it does make me thankful I don't have to bugout off the east coast (anywhere south of Wi.Dells)

I been here for the past six years, eagerly awaiting for TEOTWAWKI and if it doesn't happen soon I am going to get mighty pissed off.

Like one vulture told the other one "Patience my ass, I am going out there and killed me something".
