Here is a quote from the President, Robert Mugabe:

"Those who say printing money will cause inflation are suggesting that you must fold your hands and say 'ahh, let the situation continue and let the people starve'. The Good Lord up there has given you a brain and a brain must function, not in a stereotyped manner, but in a flexible manner. So I will print money today so people can survive,"

From what I've read about Mugabe, I don't think much of the money will be used to feed people who are starving.

I concur; Mugabe is a terrible despot who has encouraged a reign of racial cleansing in his nation. Now, with the white farmers either dead or having fled Zimbabwe as well as total mismanagement of the resources his troops have seized, it is masses of blacks who are starving to death. However, his wife can find the time to go on shopping sprees in Paris so I am told.

Something that separates the likes of Mugabe with, say, a Napoleon is that the latter was a nationalist whereas Mugabe is a tyrant through and through. At least that is my understanding of the situation.
