Dealer has this for $80 with pres. case, i could prolly get it got 70. It only weighs 4 ounces. Total waste of cash, or a nice token to keep tucked in the ole safe? What, if any, premium do you think it may command in the future? What do you think? My first inpressions are ... really sharp looking ... a bit over priced. I dont mean making a habbit of buying these, but just as a one-time thing. If its a total rip ... ill just forget it. :dontknow:

Fifty cents over spot. That's my limit on any silver. It looks purdy but won't fetch a premium WTSHTF.

.50 over spot has been my rule here too. alot of dealers roll their eyes at me and say no when i ask, but i know where to get it. i think ill apply that here too, even tho its purdy.

and that listing price is not the buy-now price either. and i try to stay away from eGay.

Oh well, just a thought.

Total waste of cash, or a nice token to keep tucked in the ole safe?

I buy certain things at times that don't specifically meet my investing criteria. I buy them because they bring me pleasure and make it fun. Only you can say whether it's worth it or not to you.

What, if any, premium do you think it may command in the future? What do you think?

Off in the future when silver goes thru the roof - I expect it might bring 10 or $20 over spot. In 1980, premiums on "artsy, commemoritive type things went _down_ in terms of premium over spot. I would expect that part to remain similar in the future.

If you like it and would enjoy owning it, buy it.

If you're just adding it to your stash, get eight generic silver rounds and a cup of coffee.

I agree with Skyvike. If you really like it buy it. I think it would keep most of it's premium. Say for example it's premium is $25 over spot. It should keep close to that. I don't know if they'll become rare enough to increase in value (other than silver going up in price). But I wouldn't think if silver went to say $100/oz, that the piece would command anymore premium than the original premium. I'm just thinking aloud here.

I really like those 1/2 oz. Canadian Timber Wolves, but I haven't bought any yet because they have a huge mark-up. They're like $7-8 bucks for a half ounce. On the other hand they might have some collector value in the future. I'll probably break down and buy a few soon.

In 1980 we didn't have WW3 and emminent total financial collapse on our doorstep.

EBay is fine..Here is a completed listing for 52.00 that included shipping 2 days ago. Maybe you just need to crawl out of your crabby shell and explore all your opportunities. Then you don't have to deal with paying for the heat in some schmoe's storefront.eBay: 4 oz $100 Bill .999 Fine Silver 1999 Seris (item 8385357163 end time Feb-23-06 10:38:02 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/4-oz-100-Bill-999-Fine-Silver-1999-Seris_W0QQitemZ8385357163QQcategoryZ39489QQssPageN ameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

I got one of those, or two, don't remember. Maybe I should go looking for it. I think I paid $7.50 an ounce a year or two back. It's nice, but not nice enough to pay 2x spot.

do u think it would be rude to print that page, bring it in, and offer him 60 bones? I would def pay 60 but no more, and i really dont want to anger this guy. He uses ebay constantly to arrive at real world prices btw.

He's asking that much because he believes someone will pay that or close to it. I'd blow it off rather than super-lowball someone you could have a long term business relationship with.

Storefronts can't keep the lights on doing business that way. Couldn't hurt though. You probably won't get him/her to go there but, maybe ou might catch him on a drive for cash to make the rent payment.:proud:

If you are a collector and you have the money then is ok but if you are a survivalist, like myself, then all that I would give you would be X ammount of toilet paper for it.....the same as per four one oz.

I remember seeing a online dealer selling those for around $60 or so recently. Sorry, I don't remember who.

What I've noticed about your posts, are the different types of bars and rounds you buy. Seems to me you are definitely in it for the bullion aspect, but also enjoy a little of the collecting side (not necessarily numismatic). I'm kind of in the same boat, except I don't come across a lot in MT.

So if it costs a little more who gives a rat's ass, sounds like you're having fun with it. :coolbeer:

We get them in the store from time to time,.......and i sold one about 10 days ago at around $50 as i recall. They are certainly higher priced than generic rounds and such,.....

.......but if you like it (and limit yourselt to only ONE),......what the hey.
