According to the Austrians the rules of Bretton Wood should have been kept and when the USA ran out of Gold to sustain Bretton woods the USA should have just gave up and imploded sucking the rest of the global system down screaming with the USA...Or what the Austrians call the natural cleansing process...

The Keynesians said that gleefully entering into an economic depression that would quickly turn into a general breakdown crisis that would make the Great depression look like a sunday school picnic is preposterous and does not need to happen...Just change the rules of the game to escape game over...
