1)How did you find this community and why on earth did you join the moonbats here?
2)Why buy it?Gold and silver do not pay interest, are hard to store, prices go up and down wildly, the govts around the world are selling it and you cannot bring it to the store and buy milk and bread with it.
2)When will you leave?

1. Accidentally.
2. Because gold and silver actually meet the qualifications to be money ( Easily divisible, store of value, etc ).
3. When it suits me.

1) got into gold cause of pirates...before the trilagy
2)actually only type of investment, one of about 20 that actually has appreciated....I know it's not good it means inflation has gone higher
But hey 1920 1oz =20 fiats = nice suite
2008 = 1oz = 872. fiats = nice suite

1. Google search: gold is money. Moonbats of a feather flock together. I like the moon and bats. And Batman. Do you like Batman?
2. Thousands of years of historical value worldwide. Not someone elses liability. Shiny! I bet I can find a store that will take it! Go see any Asian shopkeeper... Makes me feel like a pirate; I like pirates!
3. Probably not until TSHTF and the internets go kaplooey, or I go DEEP underground.

1) You guys will all laugh on this one. I usually listen to Rush Limbaugh at noon. At least for the first hour. Well he had been running ads for a while on his show about where he buys gold. Then one day after a commercial break he spent maybe 5 minutes talking about money and why he buys gold.
So I went online to the place where he suggested to go. I browsed a bit and then I wanted to see if there was a community for those who buy gold and/or silver so I just typed in 'gold forums' into Google.
This place came up first. I browsed for maybe a day or two and then thought I would register.
Here I am...

Forgot to mention that even though gold & silver don't pay interest,.......you're still better off owning them than getting the puny interest rates currently offered.
What good is it to get 3-4% on your dollars, (call it the "pimple" rate :D ).....when real world inflation is around 10% when food, energy, and everything else the govn'mt fails to include in the inflation number?
Over the last few years especially,.....you're WAY ahead if you bought gold & silver instead.

1) i found gim by doing searches on the internet about economics and bumped into barnacle bobs wonderful posts.
2) paper money systems have a track record of failure...pm's are saved for the restart of the next system, or passed onto the next generation in case it happens on their watch...
plus, i'm curiously attracted to bright and shiny objects.:D

1. Someone posted a question on a flashlight forum if members had gold in their bug out bags. I was intrigued, so I read on. Responses varied and many asked where to buy. A member mention that this site had a dealer feedback section. I checked it out because gold seemed like a good idea and the rest is history.

3. I will sell a lot of my stash when everyone else (J6P) is talking about buying.

1) It all started with Ron Paul. The first time I heard him speak he knocked my socks off and hit the ball out of the park. He has been instrumental in my own revolution and an absolute asset. What apathy I had was immediately vaporized. I began objectively studying politics, economics, and history heavily. Books like Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt and Open Media Collection by Noam Chomsky are greater primers and beginner books. In short, lol, I reach out now to find like minded individuals and met a good friend who mentioned GIM. And so after lurking about for 6 months, (thoroughly entertained might I add) I could no longer resist and joined the fold tin foil hat and all. *smiles proudly*
2) I believe what history has taught me: Fiat money is vacuous paper. Gold and silver have intrinsic value.
3) I will not leave GIM. However, GIM could leave me.
I cannot turn back. I cannot lie to myself anymore. Liberty is my guiding principle.

1. Somehow drifted over here from Kitco.
2. Why? The guy at the coin store keeps no records. Very private, unlike banks, brokers etc.
3. I'll leave when they shut down the 'net, or when I get banned for posting something stupid.
1)How did you find this community and why on earth did you join the moonbats here?
I found GIM through Kitco when all the good members were leaving that POS site for a better free site to seek knowledge.
2)Why buy it? An undervalued asset that is the ultimate store of wealth that you can hold out of the system.
Gold and silver do not pay interest, are hard to store, prices go up and down wildly, the govts around the world are selling it and you cannot bring it to the store and buy milk and bread with it.
It needs no interest paid, is easy to store outside the system, is not for short term speculation, governments sell it to surpress it, to shore up their fraudulant fiats, and is not meant to buy bread or milk.

In 1960 you could buy a loaf of bread for a quarter.
Now you could get two loafs of bread for that Same quarter!

I had some money invested in the tech boom. When prices turned down I got it out, most of it, and then started looking for something else to put it into. Precious metal was one possibility that I looked into. I eventually stumbled onto http://www.gold-eagle.com/research.html and spent about two weeks just reading. Pick a name, read, repeat. It was quite a thrill to realize that I had discovered the next boom market before it took off. When I felt like I knew enough to jump in, I jumped in with everything I had. I wouldn't buy a stock now if you threatened me with a stick.

1. I just started my first job and I had money to invest. I started looking at how to invest my money for the future. I read all the popular books on investing and retirement. All of it made sense except for when I crunched the numbers and looked at what was really going on. I saw videos and documentaries on the internet about the federal reserve and other such things. That was when I started looking into precious metals. Investing in precious metals made a lot more sense when I crunched the numbers took into account the socio-economic environment we live in.
2. Gold and silver have held their value for thousands of years and have always served as the one true world currency. They don't pay interest but they do adjust for inflation and you don't have to pay income tax on your, "interest" on an annual basis. Also everything goes up and down widely if you think about it. That is how a free market works. What you really need to understand is the definition of what value is. Gold and silver have more value than FRN plain and simple. Also gold and silver can be easily sold for FRNs so I would say the idea that you can't, "spend" it is rather pointless.
3. Maybe once I get everything in order or I find a better forum. At the moment this is the best forum for the type of things I am interested in.

1) On another forum, squexx posted a link to GIM. The rest as they say, is history.
2) I've been into PMs for about 10 years. I hold them (as I believe every wise person should) to preserve wealth and/or to provide a legacy.
3) Don't see myself leaving. Admin/mods seem very reasonable here and my views are at least tolerated. Politically, I am a White Nationalist. but I am not here for the politics. Compared to most forums, the maturity index is high and the signal-to-noise ratio is favorable.

I am cynical enough to believe that what you suggest is entirely possible.
What better way for the govt to "keep an eye" on people like us than to create a forum and entice us to show up and stick around.
Believing that is possible - does that make me paranoid???
