Treasury Now Wants to Bail Out Foreign Markets??
In a change from the original proposal sent to Capitol Hill, foreign-based banks with big U.S. operations could qualify for the Treasury Department’s mortgage bailout, according to the fine print of an administration statement Saturday night.
The theory, according to a participant in the negotiations, is that if the goal is to solve a liquidity crisis, it makes no sense to exclude banks that do a lot of lending in the United States.
The legislative outline that went to Capitol Hill at 1:30 a.m. Saturday had said that an eligible financial institution had to have has “its headquarters in the United States.” That would exclude foreign-based institutions with big U.S. operations, such as Barclays, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland and UBS. The theory, according to a participant in the negotiations, is that if the goal is to solve a liquidity crisis, it makes no sense to exclude banks that do a lot of lending in the United States.

We can't even fix ourselves and now we want to include other countries?? Wow. I think we need to be very careful. Maybe see if this works for America first and if so, help out our allies. But just to say hey let's bail out other countries too since we are on a roll???
Oh man :banghead:

So this is the beginning of the end - we are living in historic times and the Treasury and Fed are now out of the closet with trying to hide their agenda of wealth redistribution. I gave up on the Republican Party a long time ago, and naive as it is I never thought they would be the agents of change to implement socialism in America. Yet here we are - the 21st century is looking like the end of the line. I always thought I would die peacefully of old age. Now it looks like it will be the result of a SWAT team raiding my house. :bear_sad:

The banking system is international. We must not let our brother bankers fail. bailouts are not for the common slave....ooops... we don't openly say that here at bank HQ. We call them customers and clients. We must bailout the bankers so that they can continue to "service" their clients.
Anyone need servicing?

This clearly shows that their concerns are not centered around the people who would be flippin the bill.

So let's see an alternative - voting from the rooftops? Revolution? Fairness in representation? Call it what you want - I'm calling it reality.

Unfortunately you are correct. There is no question that we have no other solutions. The only question left is how long they can keep it together. They bail out bankers and foreigners and they keep it together for how much longer? A month? 6 months? 2 years? They do nothing and its over now.
The only thing left to do is prep and get ready for what we all know is coming. For those of us that are leaving, the window of opportunity is closing fast. I dont know for sure but I assume that anyone trying to leave in the future is going to have a much harder time doing so.
