Love the social engineering.
"You don't need to rush in today. Yes it's an exiting day, you want to be the first on your block to have one, but you really don't need one till June of 2009."
It makes border crossing safer too!
How?
This doesn't apply to the Mexican border....?

Move to NH where one is not required.
They say you will be put in a seperate line at the airport if you dont have tis new license.. Since so few will not have them the line should be pretty short and you will get through a lot faster LOL.
Oh you could probably put it in the microwave as well.

Watch Aaron Russo's "Freedom to Fascism."
Prepare for the future.
Anyone know how to deactivate those chips?
5 seconds in a microwave will render it useless. Did it to my AMEX card, just leaves a scortch mark. :D

Thanx for the replies. My plan is to nuke it, pound it with a hammer and screwdriver and then place it in a special wallet. Along with any other procedures that come to my attention. :applause_

How long do you think it will be before it is a *crime* to disable the chips???
If you aren't going to do anything to rectify the situation, then quit your infernal whining!
Amen, Sukhoi. I must say I still have one. For me it is still a necessity. I do not complain but work with the rules as I need them.

By far the most simple solution is to just get rid of your DRIVER LICENSE altogether, i.e. unless you must have one to earn a living by operating a business on public property, meaning engaged in the 'business' of transportation.
You know, everyone whines about this horse hockey, yet very few are willing to belly up to the bar and do anything positive and proactive with respect to their own circumstances.

How exactly do you cash checks?

Anyone know of a good way to get strip searched and interrogated?
If the RFID chip doesn't work, you WILL be accorded "special treatment."
Either choose not to take the Freedom Card, or deal with it as it comes.
I'm doing the former.

Use a anti rfid wallet
The Border Guards will ask for you to hand it to them, sans the wallet.

Hardly the former. Not taking the card means you will be implicitly restricted in a wide variety of ways. But, as Hebrew National says, I "answer to a Higher Authority" (than the government).
If you take the Freedom Card ("Real ID"), and the chip is overtly damaged (by heat, puncturing, or any other obvious means), you will be interrogated and probably strip searched, and forced to explain how the chip was damaged.

No, I will not "go to jail." I will choose death over a concentration camp or disobeying God Almighty. My grandparent survived concentration camps, and I don't have any intention of repeating that, since I know that is where I would die (no "liberators" coming this time).
I prefer to die at home or in my hometown.

Of course there is 'choice'. There is always choice so long as you breathe air. Some assert that 'choice' extends both prior to and subsequent to this walk upon the earth.
The Creator endowed you along with everyone else the agency of free will. Ultimately, your life in composed of nothing more than one choice after another, and the consequences of those choices (which lead to more choices).
'The Man Behind the Curtain' is the one who wants you to believe the illusion allows you little or no choice.
How will that help me when the teller asks for a driver's license? :smokin:
