Let face it this dog will not die. Its so fricken big its expected to pay back a 20Billion dollar dept in 2 years.

In year 2 this mother should be worth 10Xs what its selling for now.

If its broke up and sold off ---You would have more shares of a Stronger Company.

Thoughts on this anyone.

If you have all your preps in order in case of a financial and economic collapse, then why not do a little speculation (gambling) in the stock market.

I'm no where near comfortable with my level of assets at this time to play at the craps table.

Their plan ain't going to work. You may be able to scalp out some good loot but you are dancing on the razors edge. There are much better bets on the table if you measure the risk to reward aspect.

What is it and when do people realize this market/economy is going down and hard?
Have you been listening to anything on this board?

The pressure in the financials can be attributed to the FED buying the market with taxpayers money an short sellers trying to all squeeze out of the chute at once.
At the same time the top is selling into the pressure to save their thieving asses by exiting their huge positions. This rally last week has been a headfake for the financials and the market in general.

As the hedge funds explode so goes the market. There are only a few safe places to be. But of course you have heard all this before and you still ask such a question.

All I can suggest at that point is keep your finger on the mouse and be prepared to bail.
I hope you don't wake up with a huge gap down like we have seen so much lately. You know as well as anybody this mess ain't over, not by a long shot.

play it only for the "relief" bounce off the bottom, which might be worth 20-25%.......if you get the bounce, get the heck out and stay out....AIG is only going to survive by issuing warrants that will give away 80% of the company and severely dilute current stockholders...in other words, the share price will have to rise by 300%, post-financing for you to break even...a long shot at best...

I wouldn't play in rigged markets where the government can arbitrarily decide to stop trading at a moments notice. Doesn't sound too safe.

You are talking about doing business with thieves. And it is my money they want to steal. I find it hard to review your plan in polite terms.

In the short-term...days, weeks maybe...sure looks good. Oddly enough, all the financials are looking ready to surge in the short term. Not that Tn.Andy would approve, but I remembered his play on countrywide (?). AIG sure looks oversold...not by much, but oversold and reasy to bounce back to $15+

It was toast. Now it's bailed out. AIG feels like a bargain right now.
