For one of the most amazing medical discoveries of the century we have to thank the Iranian doctor Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, M.D. During the troubles in Iran many years ago he was thrown into prison, and since the prison didn't have a doctor he was given the job. Fortunately the prison had no drugs or medical supplies at all, and I say 'fortunately' because it was this complete lack of medicines that led to his discovery.

Among the prison inmates there were many who were ill, and these would line up daily outside his makeshift 'clinic.' And since sick people who visit a doctor expect to be given medicine he had to give them something. But what to do? The only thing in his clinic was a washbasin. All that he could prescribe was water. So he told them all to drink lots of water and come back and see him in a week.

What followed astonished him. When his patients came back to see him and he examined them, he found that they were all getting better. Some of these recoveries could of course be attributed to the well-known 'placebo effect,' but the success rate was far too high to be explained solely by that. It soon became clear to him that water cures, and that since it has such powerful curative properties the underlying cause of most illness had to be dehydration. Why is there so much illness? For the simple reason that most of us don't drink enough water!

Many years of research followed, the details of which can be read up in his books. He also has an excellent website where you can learn much more. But all you really need to know is that everyone, especially the ill (unless they have a kidney problem), should be drinking far more water than they do. I took up this practice myself and it had a dramatic effect on my health. It really does work. But it must be WATER -- not coffee or juice or sodas, etc., since these have a dehydrating effect -- but just PURE WATER.

So if you have something like arthritis, before popping some 'wonder drug' which is going to dissolve your bones or, as recently happened in the UK, totally wreck your immune system, try increasing your intake of water to about seven or eight very large glasses a day (or about 1 oz daily for each 2lbs of your body weight). I think you will be very surprised at how rapidly your condition improves. And if you are presently healthy and want to remain healthy you should do the same.

We all need to drink more water!

In the west we eat lots of baked goods, which have most of the moisture taken out of them. In Japan rice is steamed and there is soup with every meal. They've got a head start on us, just because of choice of diet. Maybe one of the reasons for the healthful benefits of raw foods is because they haven't had the water cooked out of them.

Dr. Masaru Emoto's work with the consciousness of water is pretty interesting... he claims the words love and gratitude taped on your water bottle will change the chemistry of the water in your favor.

Get a juicer and use it everyday. It provides both water and live cell nourishment.

I have a juicer and I used to grow my own wheat grass, harvest some and make juice every day from it, along with carrot and apple juice. It all took over 90 minutes every day, including cleaning the juicer (which is a royal pain).

To avoid a nervous breakdown, I switched to smoothies since the blender is much easier to clean. And I stopped growing wheatgrass.

On the subject of water--I have a water ionizer that makes the water more akaline and I try to drink at least 64 oz a day, usually more. I've been doing this for several years because I became convinced that the key to good health was good circulation combined with lots of water. I don't know if ionized water is really superior but I'm doing very well so I'm going to keep it up.

Hey, MerryL:

How has your health been since you started drinking alkylyzed water? Are you getting less colds, are your triglicerides (sp?) and cholesterol lower? What brand of alkilizer do you have?

I am thinking about buying one, and any all input is welcome.

I live in the middle of the desert and don't get nearly enough. Yesterday my nose fell off. Horse pills of amoxicylin seem to have a good effect though sometimes they can't be combined with my large alchohol consumption. Sorry there were just too many positive stories.

I will try this, but I would say you would probably need to increase your vitamin intake aswell.

I used a Jupiter Masterpiece for about 6 years and I just upgraded to a batch model (the Biontech BTM 3000) because I wanted a model that produced even stronger ionized water. I was healthy when I started drinking ionized water and I've remained that way so it's hard to say if the ionized water really works but I did a lot of research and I was pretty convinced.

It's not exactly fun but it only takes about 30 seconds--once you get the routine down pat.

My juicer cleans in about 1 minute. Juicing once a day takes about 15 minutes. Juicing twice a day uses about a half hour. The raw juice assimilates better than anything else.

Not sure why you find the blender easier to clean. I find them no easier or quicker to clean than my juicer.

That said, smoothies are live cells also. Either way is good.

What brand Juicer do you all have???

Mine is a Juiceman Juicer, works well, but seems to be a major pain to clean... Its all the waste or leftover that builds up in the thing...

However, the waste from it, seems to work great as a fertilizer for the garden and a toping for the worm garden...

Drink more water.... is this suppose to surprise anyone?

Certainly NOT any Bible Believer it doesn't. You see we HAVE the advanced wisdom NON-Bible believers don't.

To us... this is OLD wisdom and any amount of "science" coming out of the closet in the last 10,20, 50 yrs... etc. is just a great big yawn.

The FIRST mention of life is right here and surprise, surpise it is associated with LIFE!

Genesis 1:20
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

I have a juiceman. The stainless model. If I clean immediately following the use, running water and a veggie brush are all I need and a garbage disposal. It takes about a minute to clean and I stack it to drip dry.

Running water and veg brush clean the basket in seconds.

Also, unless I want the pulp for some reason I just use a plastic veggie bag in the catch basin. Pull it out and throw it away and that part is clean.

Gives me something to do with all those damn bags.

Just did it. Juiced oranges, apples, celery and carrots. Whole process = 15 minutes. And delicious.

Easiest juicer I've ever cleaned actually. Cleans just like a blender.

I try to drink alot of water...

I drink 3-4 great big mugs of water everyday at work. The water cooler is like 5 feet from my cubicle...

At home I either drink several more or a pitcher of unsweetened tea...

I know on Satuardays, when I'm out cutting grass (my side gig) I drink about a gallon and a half to two....

I try to drink very little soda...

I caught on to this a few years back and, as you say, it's good, though if an actual infection had set in I think a colloidal silver solution would help more than the saline solution used in regular neti.

It's more than a big yawn, it's mostly pseudoscience.

But I'll betcha there are lots of "Bible Believers" cluttering up your local hospital right now who don't realize that water would fix them up pronto.

The sad fact is that most people, whether "Bible Believers" or not, just don't know how important it is to be properly hydrated.

How about a silver cup? Do they make such things these days? I remember reading about people having silver cups and godl cups in medieval times.

I'm getting ready to start experimenting with "color medicine" - an ancient Indian system where the wavelengths of certain colors are used to correct errors in energy flow (effecting the same system as accupuncture - chakras, etc.)

One of the interesting things recommended is during a "session" (where you shine specific light on the body), is to leave a bottle of water where the light will shine on it so it is "charged" with the color. You drink it later to enhance the effectiveness.

Interesting stuff. Sounds crazy I know but the older I get the less inclined to pooh-pooh concepts that at first appear off the wall....

I have heard about this color therapy. Please elaborate on this more if you find out anything good. You may be able to wear colored sunglasses and still look stylish.

This is completely off topic, and I appologise for that

this one is for Ponce

"In the five decades to 1999, Wolf's research (http://www.transboundarywaters.orst.edu/) indicates there have been no wars and just 37 military acts over water between states -- 30 of them involving Israel and its neighbors."

Just load an empty nasal spray bottle (you can buy them) with colloidal silver and give each nostril a couple squirts before you "blow" in the morning (or whenever you feel the need). I used to have serious allergies in June and September, but the symptoms are virtually gone. Come to think of it, I haven't had sinus colds, either.

I used to spend a bundle on nasal saline sprays, and I did get sinus colds while using that stuff. I suspect that the bacterium survived on the surface of the applicator, so I re-infected myself whenever I touched my nose with it. That won't work with CS. :proud:

I still have been unable to get any straight advice about the right kind of water purifier. ANy advice? here are my qualifications:

Alkalizers are too expensive
reverse osmosis is considered "dead" water with no minerals or anything
I want flouride and chlorine filtered but want the minerals.

any options for me?

am i better off just removing everything via a distiller or osmosis system and getting minerals elsewhere?

Thanks for any help

i have been leaning towards a distiller, is it true that distilled water leeches minerals inside your body? Anyone?

That's still a raging debate but most people are leaning towards yes...I still see a lot of hold-outs on the net.

Water and minerals can bind, yes? Water with no minerals is like a magnet for minerals...

Your specifications above are ideal IMHO. Let me know if you find something.

I also drink distilled water and thought that these stories of the water "absorbing everything" were a little absurd. After a little research I discovered that the water actually does absorb carbon dioxide from the air, making it mildly acidic. I also store mine in a plastic container which gets quite hot so I could definitely see how the plastics could leach in there. I think there can be an advantage to having water that absorbs a lot though...what about for cleansing purposes? I guess one criticism could be from people who drink "alkaline" water, although I haven't seen any real, significant evidence for PH-balancing before.
