I used to live in Idaho. I always made it a practice to wear "sensible shoes".
Nice country, I miss it. the only place that attracted me more was Alaska. You have less neighbors there.

I spent some time in Alaska and am eyeing Idaho as a possibility.

I did like Alaska, but found the winters a little dark and cold.

I spent time at WalMart, but they don't use scare tactics to sell shoes .... or gold.

ID is where we relocated in 1998 after buying our 20 acres in 1994.

The people are halfway decent. Those that relocate here tend to "want to be here" so it cuts down on complaining.

Depending on what part of Idaho appeals to tou, I have a few links from my locality.

The newspaper; http://www.bonnercountydailybee.com/

The local MLS http://911sandpointrealestate.com/ and click on "Jump right in"

ID Job service http://cl.idaho.gov/iw/jobsearch/js.asp

Other local stuff at http://www.ruralnorthwest.com/bonner/index.htm

The area has been inundated with newbies, but most are tryimg to carve out a better lifestyle. We carved out our homesite in the woods literally with chainsaws and a D6 cat. And yeah, me the wife and kids were cutting, skidding and stacking.

If you need any other info about North ID, ask away.
