NORFOLK, Va.

A judge ruled Friday that a 16-year-old boy fighting to use alternative treatment for his cancer must report to a hospital by Tuesday and accept treatment that doctors deem necessary, the family's attorney said.

The judge also found Starchild Abraham Cherrix's parents were neglectful for allowing him to pursue alternative treatment of a sugar-free, organic diet and herbal supplements supervised by a clinic in Mexico, lawyer John Stepanovich said.

Jay and Rose Cherrix of Chincoteague on Virginia's Eastern Shore must continue to share custody of their son with the Accomack County Department of Social Services, as the judge had previously ordered, Stepanovich said.

The parents were devastated by the new order and planned to appeal, the lawyer said.

Stepanovich said he will ask a higher court on Monday to stay enforcement of the order, which requires the parents to take Abraham to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk and to give the oncologist their written legal consent to treat their son for Hodgkin's disease (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=Hodgkin's+disease&sid=breitbart.com).

"I want to caution all parents of Virginia: Look out, because Social Services may be pounding on your door next when they disagree with the decision you've made about the health care (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=%22health+care%22&sid=breitbart.com) of your child," Stepanovich said.

Phone calls to the Cherrix home went unanswered.

The lawyer declined to release the ruling, saying juvenile court Judge Jesse E. Demps has sealed much of the case.

Social Services officials have declined to comment, citing privacy laws.
After three months of chemotherapy last year made him nauseated and weak, Abraham rejected doctors' recommendations to go through a second round when he learned early this year that his Hodgkin's disease, a cancer of the lymph nodes, was active again.
A social worker then asked a judge to require the teen to continue conventional treatment. In May, the judge issued a temporary order finding Abraham's parents neglectful and awarding partial custody to the county, with Abraham continuing to live at home with his four siblings.

Coretta Scott King, the widow of Martin Luther King, died from ovarian cancer two or three days after arriving at an Alternative Health Clinic in Tijuana, Mexico, run by Kurt Donsbach, a chiropractor, according to news reports. Bishop T. D. Jakes, a well-known televangelist, assisted in her transfer to the Donsbach facility, according to the media.
It is reported that Mrs. King arrived under an assumed name and without her medical records. Without the accompanying medical records verifying her previous treatment and the drugs she was taking, it is almost impossible for the doctors at any Clinic to begin definitive treatment on any patient. In addition to her cancer, Mrs. King was totally paralyzed on one side from a stroke suffered several months before, according to news reports.
Very shortly after arriving at the Tijuana Clinic, Coretta King died. And the media had a field day at the expense of the Donsbach Clinic. Immediately, the Mexican federales (most probably assisted and encouraged by a salivating group from Organized Medicine in the U.S.) closed the Donsbach Clinic – as though the Donsbach Clinic had been responsible for Mrs. King’s death.
How totally unfair!

End-Stage Cancer
Coretta King arrived at the Donsbach clinic with end-stage ovarian cancer. No mention was made in the media regarding the U.S. doctor or the U.S. hospital where she was originally treated OR the type of treatment she had received for her cancer BEFORE she was sent, literally dying, to the Donsbach clinic.
I would bet a hefty sum that Coretta King, because of who she was, had received the “best” treatment, at the hands of the “best” doctors, in the “best” hospitals in the U.S. – the “best” that orthodox medicine had to offer: chemotherapy, more chemotherapy, and even more chemotherapy!
And what was the result? The “best” treatment the U.S. conventional doctors gave her left her almost dead!
She, undoubtedly, was given all the expensive and destructive chemotherapy that the orthodox doctors could throw at her, until finally they must have told her, “You’re going to die. There’s nothing more we can do.”
After receiving the “best” that U.S. conventional medicine had to offer, the resulting condition of Mrs. King – almost comatose and very near death – was the “best” the conventional doctors could do.
(If anyone has any information to the contrary, I would be happy to receive it. I tried to research her previous treatment but, not surprisingly, the media have completely ignored it.)

She arrived at the Alternative Clinic literally just hours from death. And the Mexican Clinic got all the bad press! How thrilled the vicious opponents of Alternative Medicine must be. No mention has been made in the press of Mrs. King’s previous treatment. The Mexican Clinic has taken all the bad press because she died on their doorstep.
What else is new? The same thing happened with Steve McQueen.
The same chain of events occurred with actor Steve McQueen. After his conventional cancer treatment in the U.S. had totally failed, and the doctors had sent him home to die, McQueen went to a clinic in Mexico for Alternative Treatment.
When he died there, all the blame again was placed on the Mexican clinic.
The following is an interview with Steve McQueen’s biographer, Marshall Terrill:
I read you interviewed many employees of the clinic Steve went to in Mexico to try an alternative cancer treatment. What did they say about his condition, appearance, disposition during his stay there?
Marshall Terrill: I don't understand why his decision to try an alternative approach to cancer was radical or controversial given that he was handed a death sentence by doctors at Cedars-Sinai hospital in December 1979. They told Barbara Minty, "Take him home and put him to bed. When the pain becomes too much, we'll give him medicine for the pain and he'll go peacefully." Barbara said Steve asked, her, "Do you want to go away somewhere alone and spend our last days quietly or fight it?" Barbara said, "Let's fight it."Well, McQueen decided to fight it through alternative medicine, which required him to go to Mexico …
To answer your question of his appearance and condition, he was thinner. And his skin had a grayish pallor, and his stomach was distended because of a tumor in his belly. He didn't look or feel good and was in a lot of pain. In fact, the entire time he had cancer he was in constant pain. It was a grim and gruesome experience for him and those who had to witness him during this ordeal.
Editor’s Note: By the way, it’s not surprising that Steve McQueen developed cancer, considering his diet. Here’s another part of the interview with Marshall Terrill.
What was his favorite food?
Marshall Terrill: I seem to recall many associates told me he liked nothing better than Mexican food and a cold beer, which fits in perfectly with McQueen’s image. I think he liked American-style food: steaks, burgers, fries, chili, nothing really fancy but good. His former manager Hilly Elkins told me he preferred Denny’s and other greasy spoons over trendy restaurants.

So, like Steve McQueen before her, Coretta Scott King’s death provides yet another occasion for a hysterical Medico-Political Propaganda Extravaganza put on by the media and Organized Medicine in America against Alternative Medical Treatments.
American Organized Medicine, the very ones who were responsible for Coretta King’s near-death condition on her arrival at the Alternative Health Clinic in Mexico , not only ran for cover, but lost no time in blaming the Tijuana Clinic for Mrs. King’s death.
And another Alternative Medical Clinic is unfairly closed!
One more hypocritical propaganda “win” for American Organized Medicine. One more major loss for the health of the American public.

Todays FDA approved medicine is all about money and keeping people ON the prescribed treatments for as long as possible. The longer and more excessive the treatments, the greater the profits. If as a byproduct of that they wind up curing or helping people, it's a bonus. It's not why they are in bussiness anymore.

Aaron Russo got diagnosed with incurable and fatal bladder (among other) cancer(s). He fled the US and is getting alternative treatments in western Europe. His prognosis is now that he should fully recover.

Everything in todays USofA is about cash... and cash, not God is the new king.

One of the many reasons the USA is about to get knocked flat on it's back.

Judge lifts order requiring treatment for teen cancer patient

ACCOMAC, Va. (AP) -- A judge ruled Tuesday a 16-year-old cancer patient who has refused conventional medical treatment does not have to report to a hospital and ordered a trial to settle the dispute.

"I feel free today. I was let off the leash," Starchild Abraham Cherrix said after Accomack County Circuit Court Judge Glen A. Taylor agreed to a stay. Abraham has undergone alternative treatment approaches for his cancer, such as herbal treatments, after an initial round of chemotherapy.

A juvenile court judge on Friday ordered Abraham to report to a hospital Tuesday for treatment of his cancer. The judge refused to lift his order Monday and Abraham's parents sought a stay.

In setting aside the lower court order Tuesday, Taylor also ended joint custody of Abraham between his parents and social services officials, which was also ordered by the juvenile court judge.

(but this is only a temporary stay, I believe...)

Cancer Kills!!

Don't blame conventional medicine for killing those with cancer. CANCER kills people with cancer. I think it's not a stretch to say that more people with cancer are helped by conventional medicine than die from conventional treatments. It's not the treatment that kills it is the cancer itself. Why is it that these people don't just get on a plane and go right to Mexico when diagnosed?? I'll tell you...because they believe in conventional medicine as do most. It is only when the cancer becomes unmanageable, do they seek alternatives. I don't blame them because people don't want to give up hope.

My father battled prostate cancer for 19 years and do I think for one moment that she would have gotten better care in Mexico? Do I think he would have lived longer had he sought trreatment in Mexico? The answer to both questions is NO!

My mother is a breast cancer and colon cancer survivor and do I think he would still be alive now at 80 and on a cruise to the Caribbean right now if she had sought treatment in Mexico NO!!

I'm not saying alternative treatments don't have a place in medicine but I'd bet all my PMs that there are more people ALIVE today who have been treated by conventional methods than who have sought alternative treatments used in Mexico.

Last I heard, Mexico had not awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for curing cancer.

Pancreatic cancer has a 99% death rate here in the States. In Germany when alternative therapies are used it is 33%. The same treatments used in Germany are the one used in Mexico.

The conventional treatments break down and render the body's immune system worthless thereby letting the chemical/radiation treatments do all the work to kill the cancer. All the while hammering the body.

In alternative treatments the immune system is 'amplified and super charged' so as to kill the cancer itself. Also, cancer(virus and bacteria also) do not reproduce efficiantly in a body with a 7.4 PH which alt. med's create and maintain. Plus we know through studies that stopping the respiratory process of cancer cells is another way to kill them.

Stop cancer's respiratory function, stop it's reproductive function, detox the body, super charge the immune system, feed the body hypernutrient foods and change the environment in the body to have it be inhabitable to the cancer and you've got the recipe.

All the while hanging on the beach, getting massages and drinking fresh squeezed juice.

Don't hold your breath for the awards show since Big Pharma/AMA are the host's.

What's most ridiculous to me is the patient is 16 years old, and has been through chemo before. That is plenty old enough to make your own decisions. Less than 100 years ago in this country, 16 year olds got married, had kids, and worked full time, and no one thought that strange. Today people think you need a government nanny until you're 21.

At the start of what was scheduled to be a two-day hearing, Accomack County Circuit Judge Glen A. Tyler announced that both sides had reached a consent decree, which Tyler approved.

Under the decree, Starchild Abraham Cherrix, who is battling Hodgkin's disease, will be treated by an oncologist of his choice who is board-certified in radiation therapy and interested in alternative treatments. The family must provide the court updates on Abraham's treatment and condition every three months until he's cured or turns 18.

Tyler emphasized that the decree states that the parents weren't medically neglectful.

Abraham saw the doctor last week, and defense attorneys told the judge that the doctor has indicated that he thinks that Abraham can be cured.

After the short hearing, the judge looked at Abraham and said, "God bless you, Mr. Cherrix."

Last summer, the teen was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, a cancer of the lymphatic system considered very treatable in its early stages. He was so debilitated by three months of chemotherapy that he declined a second, more intensive round that doctors recommended early this year.

He since has been using an alternative herbal treatment called the Hoxsey method, the sale of which was banned in the United States in 1960.

After Abraham chose to go on the sugar-free, organic diet and take liquid herbal supplements under the supervision of a Mexican clinic, a social worker asked a juvenile court judge to intervene to protect the teen's health. Last month, the judge found Abraham's parents neglectful and ordered Abraham to report to a hospital for treatment as doctors deem necessary.

Lawyers for the family appealed, and an Accomack County Circuit Court judge suspended that order and scheduled a new trial to settle the dispute. The judge scheduled the trial for two days but has indicated he would like to finish in one, said John Stepanovich, a lawyer for the parents.
