"Today we're going to dive into a touchy subject: Body odor. I'm not going to dance around the subject, either, because body odor can actually be an important indicator of your overall health and dietary habits. What you exhale through your breath and your skin is a good indicator of what's going on inside your body. If you start to stink within hours of not using deodorant, rest assured there is putrefaction or fermentation going on inside your body, and that indicates a poor diet, usually..."

I do not use deodorant. I shave my armpits and wear a tshirt under any normal shirt. the sweat does not get lodged on the hair and does not have a chance to start decomposing.
If I am terribly busy I may miss a shower or two and not get one for 50 or so hours. Only then I get a hint of a smell.
So boys, shave your armpits and you do not have to use a deodorant. just make sure to wear a tshirt that absorbs anything that you sweat.

I do not use deodorant.
The linked article is primarily about how diet causes body odor and illness.
Among other interesting things it points out how dogs can smell when someone has cancer.

I did read the article. thanks for posting it.
I remeber reading about ferrets being trained somewhere to detect skin cancer too.
still
People, shave your underarms. your community will thank you for it.
and find some alternative practitioner to smell your body odor to check for cancer too. the practitioner might be also apreciative if you shave your underarms

Funny thing abt russia, the men shave and (some) women don't lol
I stopped using conventional deodorants several months back as well and have started to use a natural alternative - crystal rock deodorant. Its basically a clear looking rock that you wet down and rub under your pits. Its supposed to be a natural killer of the bacteria that cause odor under your arms... it seems to work pretty well so far... i'm pretty sure you can pick it up at any health food store.
I do agree with the trimming of pit hair also - I've been doing it for years and it greatly reduces sweating in general and the smell...
:bath:I soak in bleach and turpentine once a day:rofl:

Hey Jasper,
I actually read this article yesterday. Was surprised to see it here. We must be running in some of the same circles. Thanks for posting it here.

For whomever may find it useful, whenever possible I wear only 100% cotton clothing, and I use only Everclear grain ethyl alcohol (75 percent ethanol) as a deodorant and antibacterial - not the methyl or isopropyl or denatured ethanol found in most stores, as I don't want to apply substances incompatible with the body, to my skin, in a solvent that may carry them into the body.
Usually I only have to apply it once every day or every other day.
The downside is that, being a consumable form of ethanol, it is expensive because of liquor taxes, but I consider it worth the cost and not having to worry.
