Hi ! Am wondering is it not necessary/ useful to have a general Disclaimer stating that the opinions given on this site (also by registered users) are merely opinions and not advice to buy/ sell trade etc. And that everybody should do his own research before trading, etc....

If you want to write something up I could include in in the registration as you sign up.. Make it short and sweet if you do...

Goldhedge has rightly informed me that the quote above was originally uttered by Groucho Marx. I can't get away with anything around here. http://goldismoney.info/forums/images/smilies/bawling.gif

Here's my recommendation... "BUY GOLD & SILVER!!!"

Disclosure: I own gold and silver.

If someone takes my advice and loses money... too bad :-) Seriously, I don't think a disclaimer is necessary. This is an open forum for anyone to share their opinions. I haven't seen disclaimers on any other forums like yahoo or raging bull.

Hi Lorenzo ! Somehow I can understand your take. However, in Holland recently a guy posting under the pseudo "Hercules" has been brought to trial for posting & touting on a Dutch forum. The guy was heavily promoting certain stock while selling himself. Something like that was done also by large companies..... However, ridiculous it may seem certain DA's and courts don't take the large companies to trial but select the small guys to trial. That is easier.....So, the matter is not just academical.

My suggestion is that management of this web-site make a general disclaimer, so that not everybody has to end his statement with a disclaimer.

Sounds like something going on around the net now. Only my take.

How about this:

By my acceptance of posting privileges at Gold Is Money, I agree that all information that I may read here, or from other sites quoted here, or from other sites to which I may be directed, are only opinions and are not to be deemed as investment advice. I know that prior to investing, I must do my own investigation of any investment vehicle with my own due diligence.

Hi Irish ! That sounds good but it does not only apply for the people having posting priviliges, it also should apply particularly for people just visiting for reading.

Thank you for yr constructive suggestion.
