Honey helps problem wounds
Medihoney more effective than antibiotics -- Bonn-led study to start soon

A household remedy millennia old is being reinstated: honey helps the treatment of some wounds better than the most modern antibiotics. For several years now medical experts from the University of Bonn have been clocking up largely positive experience with what is known as medihoney. Even chronic wounds infected with multi-resistant bacteria often healed within a few weeks. In conjunction with colleagues from Düsseldorf, Homburg and Berlin they now want to test the experience gained in a large-scale study, as objective data on the curative properties of honey are thin on the ground.

The fact that honey can help wounds to heal is something that was known to the Ancient Egyptians several thousand years ago. And in the last two world wars poultices with honey were used to assist the healing process in soldiers' wounds. However, the rise of the new antibiotics replaced this household remedy. 'In hospitals today we are faced with germs which are resistant to almost all the current anti-biotics,' Dr. Arne Simon explains. 'As a result, the medical use of honey is becoming attractive again for the treatment of wounds.' ...

Plus it encourages you to lick the wound and keep it clean ! heheee....

Nah, seriously, I've seen this before, and believe there is some validity to it, along with collodial silver.

Having a bitch of a time getting one boy over a summer cold, thrown everything at him and it persist. allergy season should be over but this chest and runny nose keeps up. No infection but will not go away. Cayanne smooties, Garlic, Vitamin bombs, Zinc lozengies, nothing is working.
Cut out all dairy and am only letting him eat soup, juice, and smooties for the last four days. No change.

Got em on the hot apple cider today with cinnamon sticks. Chicken noodle hot on the stove. It does not appear to be allergies.

By the way, Honey does not heal anything. What it does is kill bacteria, no bacteria can live in pure honey, ever. Honey does have traces of several pollens in it though and this can help or at times hinder problems.

Curtman, I swear by echinacea extract for immune system boosts. One brand I tried recently seems to be better than any others I've ever used. It's called EchinaMax Cold Syrup Formula. It's all natural and alcohol free. Ingredients are:

Echinacea purpurea extract (aerial + roots) 600mg
Peppermint Leaf extract 440mg
Cherry Bark extract 180mg
Verbascum 100mg
Menthol 5.1mg
Eucalyptus Oil 0.6 mg

IN a base of honey, glycerin and peppermint oil with wild cherry flavouring added. (ends up tasting like cherry cough syrup)

It's made in Canada so not sure if you can access it. If you can't, take that list to a health food/vitamin store and see if they have something close to it. (if that fails I could buy you a bottle up here, and mail it to ya. lol)

For skin related stuff I use mostly raw aloe vera juice. I keep a houseplant of aloe vera for that very reason. Never tried honey, but will add it to the list.

When I was in Egypt for a minute I remember my tourguide talking about this honey treatment you speak of.

And spider webs to stop bleeding......

For the past months I have been going into the forest and picking up leaves and roots from different plants (I don't even know what the heck they are) I bring them home and wash them three times with water, I then place a small amount of water in a pot and throw in the leave and roots and let it boil..... while is boiling I use a wooden spoon to squash them and then after a while I drink it.

It almost taste like tea, not bad, and I am still alive..... I don't know if it is or if is not doing me any good but who cares....time will tell.

HEy guys thanks for some of those replies, I didn't see this post come back up before today and wish I had. So far doing ok but to tell you the truth I think the coloidel silver in the vaporizer and some in the nose spray bottle will help a great deal. I just have to order a Colloidel silver generator and am not sold on any one in particular. I am not much into buying the little bottle at the nutrition store for $14.00 for a six ounce dropper bottle.

Honey works wonders for a local condition we call VEGAS THROAT.

I think it has some magical qualities working on the histamines and inflamed glands.

Ponce, you're a real card.

For Pete's sake get hold of a good field guide to herbs and plants, find out their properties, and go looking for specific plants.

Otherwise I'd say there's a good chance you'll end up poisoning yourself, or worse ...

What you are doing is the equivalent of walking into a pharmacy and helping yourself.

Here's what looks to be a good book that should help. It also covers potentially dangerous plants:

A Field Guide to Western Medicinal Plants and Herbs.

http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Western-Medicinal-Plants-Herbs/dp/0395838061/sr=1-5/qid=1157309970/ref=sr_1_5/104-1155035-2419109?ie=UTF8&s=books

When you're in the woods you're in Nature's Pharmacy. Get a good understanding of this stuff and you're going to be in big demand as the local Medicine Man when TSHTF.

Get really good and they may just decide that you're too important to eat!

Having a bitch of a time getting one boy.... allergy season should be over but this chest and runny nose keeps up.

Allergy season depends on what you're alllergic to.

Many people are allergic to numerous airborne allergens. One goes out, another comes in.

Mine run year round except winter.

My wife runs year round except summer.

He allergies are probably continuing and draining down into his chest.

Nasal irrigation with

#1 AHUN
Adjustable Spray Nasal-Throat Irrigation Instrument Price: $19.95 + S/H

buy a water pik to use it with -

Irrigate with a 1/2 teaspoon salt -water solution- antihistamine, decongestent.

The main thing you want to do here is flush out the allergens and mucous, to keep the drainage from continuing to drain on down to his chest wher it can cause a a problem.

HTH -

PS Colloidal silver may help - I've never tried it.

But the above works for me and my family

Done.....thanks.

I'm glad to hear it, Ponce.

It sounds like a terrific guide and ought to make your rambles through the woods a lot more interesting.

I was looking at the Amazon reviews and was particularly interested to learn that the book "offers harvesting and conservation tips. Pick this book up before you even considering picking flowers, herbs or plants for uses other than the filling your vase..."

So after finding a plant and identifying it you'll be able to take it home, dry it out, and gradually build up a store of natural, which is to say real, medicines.

Have fun!
