Facts About Colloidal Silver
What is Colloidal Silver?
Colloidal Silver is a solution of water with very small particles of electrically-charged pure silver suspended in it. It is made by passing a weak electric current between two pure silver electrodes that are submerged in purified water. The current peels microscopic-sized particles off of the electrode and, at the same time, electrically charges them. Each particle of silver will have the same electrical charge and thus repel each other, holding them in the water suspension. As the electrical charge gets weaker with time, gravity will slowly pull the silver particles down. Eventually, all the silver particles will settle out and the solution is no longer colloidal.
Why use Colloidal Silver?
Silver has been used for over 100 years to fight infection. Currently there are 5 different pharmaceuticals that use silver as one of the ingredients. The most common was silver nitrate. It was used as eye drops to prevent infection in newborn babies and is still used today in many countries. Over 70% of the hospital burn units in the United States use a silver-based cream to prevent and treat infection in burn patients. This cream, Silvadene®, is used because it is extremely effective, has no side effects, and is non-irritating. Isn't it extremely hypocritical of the FDA to claim that pure colloidal silver is harmful in light of this?
The pharmaceutical industry has no interest in colloidal silver because you cannot patent an element. Without a patent there is no money to be made and this tends to anger share holders immensely. Colloidal silver is, in fact, a direct threat to any pharmaceutical company that manufactures antibiotics. They hate competition. They want you to buy their $2.00-a-pill antibiotic with all the side effects such as yeast infections, allergic reactions, diarrhea, and the wonderful bacterial mutations. This is the real reason why the FDA banned over-the-counter colloidal silver: to protect the corrupt and greedy druglords.
