Axes thread is quite likely just getting to big. Depending on how the database is indexed and the queries are structured etc... The best thing to do is really to close it, split it or cull it. Going back a year and splitting it would be cool, then lock the first part... that is probably what I would do as an admin... FWIW.

When Ax first showed up at Kitco I was there talking about a minimum of $5700 for this gold run and possible top numbers that I don't hear anyone here talking about. Between the $5700 number and the top really depends on how so many things are handled its not worth speculating but its not to hard to come up with models that say mid 5 digit gold. You get branded as loony quite quickly talking those numbers so you tend to stop... the $2200 odd number Ax was talking about is quite conservative given a number of factors but its like Jims number of 1650, high enough to inspire but not so high that you can be beaten up with it. I don't think that JS believed for a moment it would stop there and I have said so in the past. The truth is that the USD will probably not exist as you know it by the end of this gold bull, measuring gold in USD will likely become and irrelevancy at some point in the next decade. JMO... big call but this slide looks way slippery to me.

I love my 100% gold stocks portfolio!!

Only the four makes my 100%
AEM GSS GG and HL !!

Did i say at 1$ just a few months back and repeated at 2$ my love and gratitude to GSS!! nice 11.6% today after 6+% yesterday..

The big trouble and totally unforseen for me was AEM miss this Q.
But went thro details of this quarter CC in no way the trouble is LT.
In fact from these levels for anyone with a 4 months timeframe + AEM represents a nice 10-15% discount today. IF THEY DELIVER the growth
story is intact 70+% growth and guidance constant for 2011 to 2015 as the bluest of blue and best growth low cost story..

Unfortunate from AEM 50% GSS 30% GG 18% and HL 2% i only went to
AEM 40% GSS 40% GG 30% and HL 2%..

So GSS is paying up for ST losses of AEM.
AEM is done overreacting and end of day it gained relative to GDX to nice 7.5%

So again going forward no portfolio reasjutment needed here the four remain the four.

On the front of KGC it is a stock i will not touch now at any price.
Consistnet few years misses now with the big difference from AEM the growth in terms of production is DOWN for this Q. That is horrible. Cost and mine starup tchemistry issues can be one time and part of mining business.
A mine closed for 22 days a Q another for 9 days can cause one time Q hickup but the KGC story is horrible..

Let us see how GG does..

POG target 1117 by end of the week and for these 3% gain atleast 10% gains in miner..

And all this while i dont know if someone remembered it was HAWK channel of consolidation on the top which he had posted sometime back that was in action.

From previous hawk chanels it is around 40$ breakout that it gives.
1075 + 40 = 1115!! That is where we go fast.

Yes I am aware and I am talking well pre JS going anywhere near that sort of number. Note he is using Alf as a proxy, those numbers are still too big to retain credibility on a wider stage and that is something he must do, I understand that. 10K is low five digits.... that is discounting only a relatively mild stuff up, like I said modeling mid 5 digits is not that hard if the Fed has ended up in the trap I think they have. However you will be branded insane talking about that sort of outcome as a possible. It will be interesting, I will guarantee you that... BTW I think the Fed starts this gold party but Asia ends its ---> look to the east for the top not the Fed. JMO... for the mo!

Gold ETFs there are 4 or 5 in Indian markets now
(atleast 2 i looked at real gold holders no paper stuff
India is very strict with these things
like banks indian banks had no trouble at all cause there aint no funny
ratios manipulations allowed, together those cash ratios total is over 30%
with cash and only a well defined portio in RBI only bonds allowed )

[3] All banks are selling gold in smaller denominatios to public in general.
These sales are doing good with SBI giving the best rate of around 4-5%
premium.

[4] India has levied gold import tax ( whatever they call it ) of 2%. So the actual sell price is in addition to international prices this 2%

and still demand at retail level is robust!!

Ofcourse last time the IMF sale was over gold prices did parabolically good.

That point in time is approaching something like NOW!!

Loved my bars today and will dig them out of backyard to hold to celeb. Todays over 3% gains over ATH in INR..

I don't agree that the Dollar will disappear after this gold bull is over. To end this gold bull, the dollar would have to be backed by gold. I would be a buyer of bonds if that happened especially if long term rates shoot up to 15-20%. Interest rates could start to decline by then and I wouldn't have to wait 30 years to get my return on interest. Just nice daydreaming of course but that Stewart Thomson makes a lot of sense.

The dollar will not be as relevant is what I am saying. The relevant comparison is the worlds reserve against gold, once a new and credible reserve is established it will have the power to stop the gold bull market. That will have to involve the big powers of Asia, it may involve the dollar but most likely they will remake it in an effort to regain credibility, maybe the Amero who knows? Gold backed currency is an anathema to modern government, it is the longest of long shots, even JS has said that it will not happen. What you have to do is look toward the development of the new reserve, it will be whatever oil is traded in for the time being while oil is still the number one commodity. When that new currency has credibility then the gold bull will end and money will migrate to the reserve and the financial system that supports it. In the mean time gold will have its day!

It may even be that gold is in the interim basket forming the reserve, it appears likely that it will be a basket currency if that can be made to work. I have no doubt that once the new currency basket is established, if gold is in it, it will be phased out over time.

Wow, we were $3 away from 1100 this morning. I don't know about slippery sloap Zed. You may be right, but this has the earmarks of a righteous breakout to me.
