Risky but very potential :)

largest positions, will not sell until i get out of stox completely: slw, auy
high hope, much improved forward pe: ngd, tgb ones i no longer own but still like: uxg, nsu i may purchase if gold share fall and my shorts prosper: iag, jag last few weeks bailed out of gss, hl, nsu, uxg procedes went into proshare market shorts don't know how long you've been i gss, but she lead the way down mayish '08 due to high cost of oil and a giant oil tax surcharge placed on her by the african nation she mines in. ghana, i believe. if oil approaches $100, and gold hasn't gone ballistic yet, i'll close out all mining positions. gl |

I like safe jurisdictions, hence:
NAK, NG, NXG, and AZK (although I don't own this last one at the moment). Re: GSS: Ghana will be producing its own energy within a number of years, so, perhaps in the future oil surtaxes will not be necessary. |

Northgate & Silvercorp are both top notch also, but they're closer to medium-sized rather than juniors, at least compared to the el cheapos I listed.

My all time FAV is QTA.V QMM on the AMEX ......
Reason........ An amazing and talented team behind this company lead by Tom Patton who added fantastic value for shareholders of Western Copper through its name change to Western Silver after the massive Penasquito silver find.. This is now the flagship property of Goldcorp...it was first sold to Glammis and in turn to Goldcorp.. Prior to this he had spun out all of the other projects into Quaterra.. there are some amazing properties on their books, both silver and copper and with a financing behind them have enough money in the pot to continue with an agressive drill programme.... I was lucky enough to get in on Western Silver when it was 97 cents cdn and sold just prior to the glammis deal.. My average on QTA.V is 15.5 cents edit: I should add that recently I was fortunate to meet Dr.Tom Patton, he's a unassuming guy, who is interested in adding 'value' to the company. Those that own his shares have tremendous loyalty.. He's not interested in pumping and dumping, those that own his stock seem to be in it for the long haul... I sat with Western Silver for a number of years through drilling and discoveries, defining a resource through finding a buyer to take it to the next level and develop it into a mine... Western Silver for me was life changing.... Part of the deal when he sold western was that he couldn't go into Mexico for 2 years, obviously he already had a large portfolio of properties there prior to that, now that the time is past the QTA team have been making more promising aquisitions.... My one disappointment is that they have halted exploration on their Arizona strip uranium property until the US gvmt hopefully lift a moratorium on it.... It's a great property with plenty of pipes, unlike many uranium properties in Canada Quaterra's are above the water table and would therefore be far cheaper to mine.. Anyone familiar with cameco knows what a disaster mining for uranium in the athabasca basin of Northern Saskatchewan has been... I should admit I own 100,000 shares ...

The number 1 priority for picking juniors is that they have as low a debt/equity ratio as possible. Mining companies with low debt/equity ratios go up the most, split the most, and pay the most dividends.
Especially when the company is in the exploration stage, you do not want interest costs eating away at the company's precious money. Most importantly, the debt is a cost to the shareholder (YOU) and a benefit to the bond-holder (NOT YOU). |

Juniors in the exploration phase usually have no debt. After all... who would lend them money?>-- They don't even have a business yet - they're just looking for one in the dirt.

My main junior in my little stash is IPT.v
Has no debt, low outstanding shares, and is using cash flow (has been making money every quarter) for exploration and expansion in a large land area. I like the management, the same as the drilling company EGD.v which holds a number of IPT shares. Slow and steady company with zinc and lead to help pay for the extraction. They are also pulling out a little gold. Do your own DD as I don't share your profits (or losses). ![]() |

Tara Gold is a good one.
CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 10/01/09 -- Tara Minerals Corp. (OTCBB: TARM), a subsidiary of Tara Gold Resources Corp. (PINKSHEETS: TRGD) (FRANKFURT: T8N), is pleased to announce the discovery of a high-grade gold-bearing quartz vein (San Felipe) on the Southwest side of El Sapo mountain, 1.5 kilometers southeast of the recently commissioned Don Roman lead, zinc, and silver mine and mill (see 9/29/2009 press release). Work to date has outlined the known vein strike length to approximately 850 meters and approximately 400 meters in vertical height. The vein remains open both laterally and at depth. Channel samples were taken from both locations and assays returned results ranging from 28 to 32 grams gold per tonne. CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 10/13/09 -- Tara Minerals Corp. (OTCBB: TARM), a subsidiary of Tara Gold Resources Corp. (PINKSHEETS: TRGD) (FRANKFURT: T8N), is pleased to announce that selective mining to bulk sample the newly discovered high-grade gold-bearing San Felipe quartz vein (see October 1, 2009 press release) has begun. A minimum of 500 tonnes will be sampled. Assay results are expected in November and if consistent with recent sampling, gold mining and processing will begin immediately. The producing Don Roman mill (see September 29, 2009 press release) has three parallel circuits and a portion of the capacity can be used to produce gold concentrate for sale. Surface channel samples from the structure have returned values ranging from 28 to 41 grams gold per tonne. Additionally, a series of 8 shallow trenches returned 4 to 6 grams gold per tonne. Work to date has outlined the known vein strike length to approximately 850 meters and approximately 400 meters in vertical height. The vein remains open both laterally and at depth. The tunneling has begun and is expected to advance approximately 9m per day. http://www.taragoldresources.com/Eng...e/default.aspx

Mine are not exactly juniors but they are not seniors so call them middle aged.
SLW.TO, G.TO, PAAS, SSRI, AQI.TO, CCO.TO, CSI.TO, YRI.TO, K.TO, NXG. These are not all of them as the list is loooooong and distinguished and sadly not doing too well. So sniffff! SAGI

good thread. seems to me that this sort of thread should be the core of this site. investing should get the nod over current events and political\religious opinion.
