Yes I have been holding that stock out of respect for Sinclair. Good to come home today and see the big bounce the stock made. It has been pretty flat over the last 3 months and of course not a big gainer over the last 3 years.

Most of the Juniors are listed at TSE.. Any good broker that allows you to do that in America?

I read all the posts and they are good. I think the direction is right. BUT

The problem with holding any company is that it holds your cash. I don't mind that as long as its making me some profit. However its pointless if we have to wait for a long time. Initially many of us of old were using the "buy and hold system" (There I go again being poetic!) Over the last two years there has been a subtle change according to the market dynamics and since we have seen a huge volatility in stock investment it has been found to be more prudent to move form log to log. Stand at one point and there is a good chance you will drown. All the stocks mentioned are good- in an uptrend. They are good because they are desired by others and when demand is more than supply....you get the picture. Holding good potential stocks is a chance we take. sure they have the resources, sure they have the management....do the investors care about all that? What we investors need to know is do a thousand other guys think like us and go for the same info. If they don't than no matter how good the stock looks....its bad, cos you will be the one holding the parcel in this musical game. The markets have changed for the time being and you should change your way of thinking too. Wars are won by generals that know when to retreat and when to change tactics. We are doing the same; adapting to the circumstances we find our selves in.

Scottrade for one will, but they charge $27 instead of $7. You have to call in the trade.

I was lucky enough to get in on Western Silver when it was 97 cents cdn and sold just prior to the glammis deal..

My average on QTA.V is 15.5 cents

edit: I should add that recently I was fortunate to meet Dr.Tom Patton, he's a unassuming guy, who is interested in adding 'value' to the company. Those that own his shares have tremendous loyalty.. He's not interested in pumping and dumping, those that own his stock seem to be in it for the long haul... Part of the deal when he sold western was that he couldn't go into Mexico for 2 years, obviously he already had a large portfolio of properties there prior to that, now that the time is past the QTA team have been making more promising aquisitions....
My one disappointment is that they have halted exploration on their Arizona strip uranium property until the US gvmt hopefully lift a moratorium on it.... It's a great property with plenty of pipes, unlike many uranium properties in Canada Quaterra's are above the water table and would therefore be far cheaper to mine.. Anyone familiar with cameco knows what a disaster mining for uranium in the athabasca basin of Northern Saskatchewan has been...

I should admit I own 100,000 shares

QTA.V QMM on amex was 77 cents 1 week ago ... It's $1:20 today !!

Over the weekend Jim Sinclair said he was pondering junior miners. Earlier today on his home page, he replied to a question about evaluating juniors with respect to their derivative exposure or loan exposure. Something along those lines. He told the questioner to call the companies and ask about whether the exposure was recourse or non-recourse. The question and answer have since disappeared from the site and I hoped to review it as I only had a brief time for overview in the morning. Did anyone catch this? Would you care to post what you recall?? TIA

I've been pretty much 100% invested in Mining / resource stocks since 1999

Jim Sinclair actually recommended doing this about two years ago, I wonder if you were reading archives ? After he suggested doing this I along with many others were hitting the phones and asking many of my junior miners this question, directing some to read Jim Sinclairs Jsmineset..
The other problem that many junior miners faced is that many were flush with cash they thought they could be creative and get high interest for their monies and when the bubble burst they found although their investments had 'matured' they couldn't get their money, with their burn rate they found they were outta cash and stopped exploring waiting for better times!!
Jim Sinclair predicted this and because of this many companies have had to dilute their shares as they go back to the market for more $$$ ... many are doing this through individual investors and not banksters...

Why would you want to invest in miners? If it's all about supply and demand, wouldn't you want to either get out of miners or short miners into nonexistence? Then the value of physical PM''s would really go up, but I guess there's that whole greed thing and wanting to make a ton of fake money fiat via the stock market run by high frequency trades. Hope gs and their computers are running the same stocks as you....

Decreasing mine supply overall helps the miners that have significant deposits, like NAK.

I have;
San gold SGR.V : the keep finding good grades all the time in manitoba
Semafo SMF.TO : good management and projets in africa.
wesdome WDO.TO : Always good production in Quebec
Centamin egypt CEE.TO : 12 million oz in egypt.... and just started production
northern mining MDN.TO ; like wesdome same production but in tanzania

Now for a roll of the dice......
Ecometals EC.V : As soon as they get the ok from the equador goverment ( wich should be soon as everybody around just got them and Kinrosss 2 days ago), will start drilling about 400m from the Aurelian discovery of fruta del norte wich now belongs to kinross. Just the speculation on this one will be more exciting than a roller coaster ride.

Well, there are 10,000 of them mate. None of the experts are comprehensive in the field, no body can know them all like the Dow 30 can be known. There's no perfect excell list anywhere online, it would be a $50,000pa subscription service. :) So don't worry about trying. But always try!!!! Research juniors intensly for a month, and you'll find 10 juniors that are much better than your favourites before that month.

Reading everyone's listed juniors, and seeing GPM TRE ECU & TRGD listed, makes me want to start a thread about "Heavily marketed 2nd/3rd rate gold stocks frequently bought by my goldbug brothers." But I might not get around to it.

I agree.

Also it is interesting to note that QMM has been "underperforming" when compared to other silver miners.

I think it will play catch up soon, and last week was very strong.
