Treasury to unveil new $20 Tuesday
Bill will feature color other than green as government looks to thwart counterfeiters. NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - The government plans to unveil its new $20 bill Tuesday, marking a deviation from the currency's standard green color. The redesigned notes will remain the same size and use similar portraits and historical images, but will include the introduction of subtle background colors. The department has not announced what colors will be used. http://money.cnn.com/2003/05/12/news...enty/index.htm The counterfeitters don't like other counterfeitters butting in on their territory! |

Does anybody know what that symbol is on the
bottom just to the right of Jackson above the words 'series 2004' ? It looks like some variation on the eagle with flag theme thats in the great seal of the united states. The same theme already occurs in current bills in the federal reserve system icon. But this new, smaller one only has nine stripes on the flag part, instead of the 13 that I have always seen in every other variations. What's that about? Anybody know what this is supposed to represent? Is it new or am I just ignorant? Thanks, - fvk |
