I suppose we made it to the Moon... But since we haven't followed up by establishing colonies or sending people to Mars or even building a halfway decent space station, what did we get out of it? So far history will say it was all a wasted effort. :y:

Only one way to truly settle it...

Form an international coalition between the US, Russia, France, and Britain, then RETURN to the moon to document and archive the stuff left behind, (ie: lander base, rover, flags, etc.).

As for Mars... I have my doubts and sometimes wonder if they are playing with an RC vehicle at Area 51, using a red filter to film it.

It could be proven easy enough with a particular telescope.

RMCD - not that issue needs to be settled to the satisfaction if the trailer park community but if you must, there is a reflective disk on the moon, buy yourself an appropriate laser, bounce a beam off it, measure the reflection, then you know that a man made object has been placed on the moon, but hey maybe the aliens or elvis left it there

A couple of years ago a group who had access to a new telescope with the resolving power to identify objects the size of the lunar rover, lander, etc. promised to put an end to this debate and then dissappeared, shut up, nothing to say.
