Default Start to worry when people feel they have nothing left to lose

Fantastic quote from Casey Research:

Quote:
People believe they have little to lose, they’re eager to hang those they believe responsible for their problems, and they’ll listen to radical or violent proposals. We’re now just entering what will likely be the worst economic trough since the Industrial Revolution. A rioter is typically an angry person looking for vengeance because he blames someone else for his problem. So far, rioters seem to be directing their attention at governments. Correct target, of course, but they don’t have the rationale quite right. They’re not angry because governments inflated the currency, promoted fractional reserve banking, and nurtured all the cockamamie socialist programs that caused this crisis. Not at all; they rather liked all that. They’re angry only because their governments haven’t adequately protected them from the consequences of what they did. So as conditions worsen, we can expect governments worldwide to pull out absolutely all the stops to show they’re “doing something.” And round up scapegoats to satisfy the mob and divert anger from themselves.

Its really shameful that people expect the government to fix all their problems. I don't know whats worse, the mob mentality or a corrupt government. i guess they go hand in hand eventually. i think the people are conflicted, because they want all the easy credit and freebies that work to a point but they dont want to pay the price. its blood on their hands, and maybe they get it on some level, but when the good times are over the blame game starts. and that only comes around when theyre left with nothing, and we see all the desperation thats cropping up. nothing left to lose, which means civil society is in jeopardy. quite sad, but what did they expect? the good times to last forever?

I've noticed a certain tribe is starting to sweat and look over their shoulders. They're even saying Europe and the USA is no longer safe for them. I expect a mass move to Canada.

I am not sure if you got the point or completely missed it with that comment.

Object of hostility, I agree with. Irrational, I don't.

Canada is not that safe given "white" Canadians reluctance to feel awed by them, and the large number of immigrants that would be hostile to them, such as the Caribbean blacks, the Indians, the Pakistanis, and the Chinese.

The great philosopher, Pogo, comes to mind. I personally know too many, who's only functions are to convert a piece of paper that arrives once a month into landfill and turn food stamps into compost, while irritating each other.

No, it is not.

Words penned by a Rhodes Scholar, consider the source.

Becoming a permanent resident of Canada is pretty tough.
They don't even have provisions for retirees like most country's have.
Sure you can buy vacation property there but you still have to cross the boarder and get your passport stamped at least every six months. If the boarder guards suspect you trying to establish a full time residency there they can deny you entry.

You used to be able to buy residency by investing $500K - lots of Hong Kong Chinese did that back when they were worried about the handover to the ChiComs.

I don't think it is that difficult, even if you don't have half a mil lying around...

Civil unrest will only give an excuse for hideous repression. We need to handle this with clear heads.

You can enter as a skilled worker with a job lined up. Or if you have 800K to invest in a business.
You can't just have money, go buy property and expect to live there full time.
Most retired people would not qualify.
