Default Karls Musings on the Bearer Bonds -- Pretty Good for Karl

http://market-ticker.org/archives/11...rer-Bonds.html

I will simply add the following:

If this is for real (and I am not sure it is because I think I remember something like this coming up before and it sounds like the Leo Wanta stuff as well) then what we next want to do is figure out why these bonds were on the move.

My guess is that the US is severely limiting the amount of money that can be put to bear on the CRIMEX and so the flow of enemy money into brokerage accounts that could affect CRIMEX pricing is restricted. These bearer bonds would be just the vehicle to get around that problem.

I am fairly certain that for the most part, electronic money cannot be used to buy much gold around the world. If you want a ton of gold, you don't get to use electronic money. You have to give something else of real value. These bonds are the sort of thing that might be used...........

Possible?

About the 134.5 billion in bearer bonds. There is a lot of speculation on the Net about them, but two coincident factors are overlooked.

The first is that that is exactly the amount of TARP funds remaining unspent, as of mid-March.

The second is that at the time of the bond seizure at the Italy/Switzerland border, there was a G-8 Finance Ministers meeting in Italy. The Japanese Finance Minister Yosano was present.

IMO, the Japanese are trying to raise money to stimulate their economy (actually, this is factual) and wanted to doit by selling Treasuries. The US begged them not to do so, and offered them bearer bonds from the Federal Reserve instead. Yosano received these bonds and sent them on to Switzerland via courier. They could have been sold there without disrupting the Treasuries market.
